We are committed every day to a more sustainable industry

Our commitment to sustainability

We have chosen to contribute to sustainability and commit to generating lasting and shared value with all stakeholders.

Today, it is necessary to approach the market taking into consideration not only economic aspects, but also social, ethical, and environmental ones that the company carries along the entire value chain, especially in light of the New European Green Deal that challenges all of Europe on the decarbonization of our continent.

In this new vision, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the new paradigm within which even corporate objectives find space. The Agenda, an action plan for people, planet, and prosperity signed in September 2015 by the governments of the 193 UN member countries, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), challenges each organization to a concrete commitment to achieving sustainable development goals.

Agenda 2030: the objectives we want to pursue

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an action plan for people, planet, and prosperity.

Signed on September 25, 2015 by the governments of the 193 UN member countries, and approved by the UN General Assembly, the Agenda consists of 17 Sustainable Development Goals framed within a broader action program consisting of 169 targets or milestones associated with them, to be achieved in the environmental, economic, social, and institutional domains by 2030.

Good health and well-being

We strongly believe in a certified system for Quality, Safety, and Environment. On the safety front of our employees, we have chosen to certify our model by adopting the ISO 45001 certification “Occupational health and safety management systems” to ensure a healthy workplace and a system for the prevention and management of accidents.

Within our company, we have created a dedicated area for training on safety and corporate values. The “Dojo” is a gym for the mind where every person in our company learns:

Quality education

Maintaining the highly qualified professional skills of our employees is an approach that De Angeli Prodotti adopts to ensure the continuity and growth of the company in the market. For this reason, we implement a diverse training plan within the company to enrich the value of human capital.

In particular, each employee has the opportunity to access various courses that allow them to enhance their skills, both technical and soft skills necessary to carry out their tasks.

Decent work and economic growth

We believe in the value of Corporate Social Responsibility which for us represents the foundation of our action for Sustainable Development. We have chosen to take this main path to guarantee all of us a work environment capable of ensuring respect for human rights, non-discrimination, development, enhancement, training, professional growth and people’s health and safety.

We have chosen with responsibility and awareness to declare it with the SA 8000 certification which helps us to constantly improve our goals. For this reason, the company has adopted a “Policy for Quality, the Environment, Safety, Social Responsibility and Energy” which places the values of quality, safety, ethics and respect for the environment at the center of its business model.

In 2022, 332 people work in the company, 265 men and 67 women, 81% of workers have a permanent contract, the remaining 20% are temporary. The female component in 2022 had a significant increase of 10% with the inclusion of over 35 women in the production departments.

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

With our products, we are leading the transition to an economy in line with the principles of sustainable development. Our Research and Development department is focused on identifying products that are increasingly capable of supporting a transition to a low-carbon economy.

Some examples are conductors for wind turbines or transformers, capable of promoting the energy transition towards renewable sources and responsible consumption. Our carbon core conductors also promote the creation of a more interconnected, secure, and flexible power grid.

Sustainable cities and communities

Our products directly contribute to the development of more resilient and sustainable infrastructures aimed at reducing resource consumption.

Through the production of our most advanced conductors for Power Grids, we help ensure the connection of multiple intermittent sources of energy production through increasingly modern and efficient power grids.

Responsible consumption and production

Over the years, in our company, the awareness and attention to measuring environmental impacts and their mitigation has grown, and for this purpose we have adopted ISO 14001 certification. We have also taken the path of ISO 50001 certification for the measurement and containment of energy consumption. As for the management of waste, we adopt an approach aimed largely at their recovery in a circular economy perspective.

We implement organizational policies that help us pursue all the objectives of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), such as the Organizational Model 231.

In recent years, we have also invested heavily in energy efficiency, monitoring consumption with a dedicated group of people, our Energy Team. We measure everything related to energy consumption through constantly updated KPIs and with White Certificates.

Climate action

Our company is committed to promoting concrete actions to counter climate change by adopting a series of strategies to reduce the environmental impact of our activities and promote sustainability.

We have invested in the installation of photovoltaic panels to produce clean energy and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Moreover, we are implementing energy-saving policies to reduce our consumption and CO2 emissions. For example, we have converted traditional lighting to LED lamps. Thanks to efficient waste management, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our production processes.

Our co-generation and tri-generation plants are one of the examples of the Best Available Techniques (BAT) that we have implemented and they help us reduce energy demand both for production and heating.
